Pico Island
The Hotel is a tourist Village lying on a serene escape for those seeking a peaceful retreat.
The wineries on Pico Island have an origin dating back to the 15th-century colonization and the development of viticulture. The island’s inhabitants-built stone “currais” and adegas (wineries) to address various climatic challenges posed by this volcanic origin island, such as strong winds and sea spray.
Each house in the Hotel represents these typical island wineries, constructed with volcanic basalt, respecting the entire history of the island.
Coincidentally and luckily, the Hotel is situated on “Rua das Adegas” (Winery Street).

Terceira Island
Uncover the Island – This full-day tour will take you around the south, east, north and centre parts of Terceira Island. Tour highlights include stops at Monte Brasil, Salga Bay, São Sebastiao church, Serra do Cume viewpoint, Praia da Vitoria, the ancient volcanic caves of Algar do Carvao, and the Wine Museum. This tour also includes lunch at a traditional restaurant where you’ll have the chance to try the beloved local dish of Alcatra de Carne (pot roast cooked slowly in a traditional clay pot).
Cheese and Dairy Farm Experience – Visit a traditional dairy farm having the experience of being in contact with the animals. You will have the opportunity to milk a cow by hand, as well as drink natural milk directly from the animal. You will also meet the mascot cow, take photos with the animals and even feed a calf (baby cow) with a bottle.
It also includes a visit to the oldest cheese factory on the island of Terceira with artisanal production ending with a tasting of the cheeses produced in the factory accompanied by 1 drink of your choice.
Pico Island
Pico Unique Wine Tradition – Are you a Wine Lover? So this is your tour! Fantastic opportunity to test your five senses: smell, sight, taste, hearing and touch through the internationally famous wines of Pico and its culture. Traveling back in time, this activity is also a tour through villages of black houses made of volcanic stone, vineyards and wineries so you can deeply understand the Pico Wine Culture, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Have lunch in a local restaurant discovering the local food.
Exploring Lava Tunnels – Put your helmet on and join the tribe for this underground adventure inside the almost unexplored Pico lava tunnels. On this tour, we will use helmets, overalls and headlamps, to explore the maximum interior of some of the caves of Pico Island, getting to know the unique lava formations and bacteria in a path made of black lava resulting from the eruptions of the island’s volcanoes.

Exploring the Volcanos £ 75 – Learn about Terceira’s volcanic origins and see a few up close with this unique geological tour of the island’s lava caves, ancient craters, sulphur pits and fumaroles, and plenty of beautiful sights and views along the way! This half-day tour will cover all of Terceira’s beautiful geologic wonders.
Swimming with Dolphins in the Wild (Jun-Sep) £ 110– Initially, a short simulation will get you used to the equipment and teach you the best way to enter the ocean, minimizing the impact on the dolphins for a safe and respectful approach. Then the Vigia, a person who searches for whales and dolphins, will guide the boat to a dolphin area. It will be an unforgettable experience watching and listening to them in their natural habitat.
Snorkelling to witness the Wildlife (Jun-Sep) £ 50 – Snorkelling is safe and easy for everyone curious to discover and learn more about marine life. After a safety briefing and a short simulation, so you get used to the equipment, the fun begins! A short boat ride will take you to one of the diving places.
Pico Island
Climb Pico to Watch the Sunrise £ 100 – Climbing Mount Pico is challenging, climbing during the evening gloom is even more! Armed with headlamps, the ascending is done during the night, with the reward of a full feeling when we reach the summit and see the first rays of the sun colouring the sky over the ocean and the Mountain shadow projected on the horizon.
