The capital San Jose lies in the heart of Costa Rica and the Greater Metropolitan Area is home to almost two-thirds of the country’s population. With few buildings over 100 years old, the mountainous capital is relatively modern compared to its Latin American counterparts, but still has a significant amount of culture, art, and history for visitors to discover. With many theatres full of Costa Rican culture, museums that include the largest collection of American jade in the world and Precolumbian gold artifacts, as well as streets full of bright murals and painted buses, San Jose is an eclectic city waiting to be experienced.
The Hotel Palma Real has a privileged and quiet location in the heart of the capital San José – just a few minutes away from La Sabana Metropolitan Park, the National Stadium and the Costa Rican Art Museum. Arenal Volcano Hike + Ecotermales with local guide and transfers
The tour starts with a hike on a scenic trail at the bottom of the Arenal Volcano that will take you through the rainforest and over petrified lava flows. During the 3-hour guided hike, you’ll learn from your naturalist guide about the history of the majestic Arenal Volcano and the impact it had on the local area and community throughout the centuries. Marvel at the breathtaking views just before heading back to continue onto the second highlight of the day. Ecotermales Hot Springs features large and small pools, hot and cold ones, with walking paths in between. Relax in the pools and enjoy the various temperatures to rejuvenate body, mind, and soul. Additionally, you will enjoy dinner at the on-site restaurant.

Accommodation: Homestay Juanilama Community
This community is home to about 100 inhabitants mainly dedicated to livestock and milk production and its derivatives, in addition to agriculture such as pineapple, bananas, and tubers, given the warm and humid climate conditions it usually has. The Juanilama Ecological Reserve has a primary forest of 25 hectares, with impressive flora, fauna, and waterfalls, bordered to the northeast by the Pocosol River and Quebrada La Leona.
Homestay: a family atmosphere where you will be treated as a member of the family. You will have a private room and bathroom with your host family. The homestays feature parking, daily cleaning service, Wifi in common areas (not always guaranteed), and a restaurant nearby.

Once an important river port, this quaint market town lies on the confluence of the Rio Sarapiqui and Rio Puerto Viejo in the northeast of the country. Visitors are drawn to the area for the natural beauty and adventure of its tropical rainforests, where a range of activities are on offer – from hiking and leisurely birdwatching to riverboat tours that give visitors the chance to view toucans, monkeys, sloths, and crocodiles, among other jungle creatures. Alternatively, visitors can take in the abundant scenery and wildlife on horseback, while thrill-seekers can experience the adrenaline-fuelled activities of kayaking, white water rafting, and zip-line forest canopy tours.
In the middle of the Sarapiquí Valley is the sustainably managed Tirimbina Lodge, which borders the nature reserve of the same name and is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers.
The lodge on the banks of the Sarapiquí River is connected to the Tirimbina Rainforest Reserve by a suspension bridge, part of the ecological concept of the Natural Park’s Research and Education Center. It is just 2 km from La Virgen. The comfortable rooms are located in an elongated building on the ground floor and offer a rustic atmosphere enhanced by stone floors, wooden furniture, and long corridors.
There are 12 standard and 6 luxury rooms to choose from. The hotel’s rustic restaurant serves mainly national specialties as well as international dishes. WLAN internet, a souvenir shop, an impressive suspension bridge and a 9km long network of hiking trails always attract nature lovers to this place.

Upon your request at the booking form, we can plan an optional chocolate tour through the rainforest to the cocoa trees, a nature hike with a local guide, or a Rafting Tour on the Sarapiqui River Class II or III.

This once-sleepy fishing village has become a popular tourist destination in recent years due to its incredible beaches, crystal-clear water, and laid-back Caribbean charm.
Aside from the spectacular beaches fringing the town itself, two national parks, to the north and south respectively, feature pristine bays and coves where the rainforests tumble down to the waterline. These lush jungles are the natural habitat of a cornucopia of wildlife, including exotic mammals such as the howler monkey and myriad bird species.
Snorkelling and other watersports and simply soaking up the sun are the order of the day in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, and the town also features a selection of reggae bars.
Surrounded by lush tropical nature, Villas del Caribe Beach Hotel is located right on one of the most beautiful beaches of the southern Caribbean coastline and offers a total of 26 comfortable Villas as well as Standard and Superior rooms.
It is one of the few hotels with a direct beach location and sea views from all rooms as well as the famous coral pools located right in front. All rooms are cozily furnished, fresh, and clean. They feature a private bath and are decorated in a modern Caribbean style, taking advantage of the refreshing coastal breeze. Located in a tranquil residential area of the capital San Jose, cozy Hotel Aranjuez is a fusion of 5 former townhouses built in the 1930s with its architectural design still intact: High wooden ceilings, floors that mix wood and mosaic, spacious lounges, terraces and patios covered with fruit trees.
